La Trattoria Gamba de Legn di Bareggio is a landmark for those wishing to rediscover Lombard traditional cuisine in an authentic and welcoming environment. The menu is full of typical dishes prepared with care and quality ingredients, offered with a perfect balance between simplicity and taste. Among the specialties, without a doubt, are the mondeghili, typical Milanese meatballs cooked impeccably: soft, flavorful, and faithful to the traditional recipe, they are a dish that alone justifies the visit. Special mention also goes to the homemade mushroom tagliatelle. The service is attentive and friendly, capable of making guests feel at ease without ever being intrusive. The value-for-money ratio is extremely fair, making the experience even more satisfying. A trattoria that proudly preserves the soul of Lombard cuisine, and definitely worth a stop.
Everything was excellent! Mondeghili were very delicious, the tartare was one of the best I've ever had, not to mention the starters and mains, we ate porcini tagliatelle and porcini steak and I was truly satisfied. I don't usually give so many compliments but here I really felt the need! I highly recommend it, from the cuisine to the staff, I will return soon!
Just a few steps from home, we had never been there before last night. Yesterday, we decided to try it, and we really enjoyed it. Very friendly and attentive staff to all requests. Dishes were very tasty, flavorful, and generous portions. We had 2 starters and 2 main courses, plus wine and water, spending about €30 per person. Even our 15-month-old daughter really enjoyed the risotto alla Milanese and the mondeghili. Everything was excellent, we will definitely return.
The trattoria is located along the SS 11 "Via Novara" at the height of Bareggio, where you can stop for lunch with the fixed menu priced at €10.00, or in the evening and on weekends for a copious and relaxing family lunch. There are tables inside and about a dozen or so in the veranda, which has been appropriately filled with plants and beautiful decorations that do not suggest that beyond there is the busy road; this is very positive because it is outside the chaotic flow of cars and very relaxing. The dishes mainly concern typical northern cuisine, such as: pasta with mushrooms, tagliatelle with sauce, Milanese schnitzel, ravioli with butter and sage; occasionally they have fish dishes, and the dishes vary according to the season. Portions were adequate, in fact, the tagliatelle were plentiful, and we appreciated that. Everything was obviously flavorful. We ordered some wine and liked it; you can order a glass or a bottle. The wine in the glass was served from the bottle, not on tap, which is a positive factor because it is not carbonated. We would like to know which wines you served us today (white and red), so I would be pleased to receive this information. The two waitresses who served us were kind and helpful, and the prices are very honest, so I highly recommend it. Clean environment, including bathrooms.
